[vc_column_text]The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) congratulates Isabel Casillas Guzman on her nomination by President-elect Joe Biden to lead the U.S. Small Business Administration. With this nomination, Guzman is the first Latina named to a cabinet-level post by the President-elect.
“I applaud the appointment of Isabel Guzman to head the United States Small Business Administration,” said Brenda Victoria Castillo, President & CEO, National Hispanic Media Coalition. “Guzman is an advocate for small business and is someone who will ensure that the COVID-19 recovery is inclusive of communities of color.”
Ms. Guzman is current Director of the Office of Small Business Advocate in the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). Upon Senate confirmation, she will be the 4th Latina and the 2nd member of Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE), one of NHMC’s partner organizations, to serve as SBA Administrator.
She is also the co-founder of a small business called GovContractPros, which helps small business owners navigate federal government resources. Her experience in entrepreneurship gives Ms. Guzman the insight to be an excellent representation of the people who are starting small businesses.
This is exciting news for NHMC, Latinx, and historically under-represented Small Business owners in the United States. We look forward to working with Ms. Guzman and the rest of the incoming administration to help advance Latinx and marginalized communities in our nation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_facebook][vc_tweetmeme][/vc_column][/vc_row]
