Echo features Alaqua Cox, who reprises her role as ‘Maya Lopez’ from the Disney+ original series Hawkeye. The series celebrates Cox as the very first Indigenous deaf actor to lead a TV series!
Wilson Fisk is out for revenge and his prey is Maya Lopez. After her ruthless behavior in New York City, Maya heads to her hometown in Oklahoma, where she will confront her past and reconnect with her Native roots. In the hope to survive, she must learn the meaning of community.
Joining Alaqua Cox in the series is a star-studded cast of incredible Indigenous actors. Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves) and Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon) will play Maya’s grandparents, ‘Skully’ and ‘Chula’; Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs) will play Maya’s cousin, ‘Bonnie’; and Chaske Spencer (The Twilight Saga) will play her uncle, Henry.
The series features Navajo filmmaker Sydney Freeland (Reservation Dogs) as she directs the bulk of the series, along with Aboriginal Australian filmmaker Catriona McKenzie (Shining Vale).
All episodes of Echo are now available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
