As a queer, first-gen Mexican American, everything I write centers diverse voices in universally
accessible stories. My mother immigrated to the United States as a young child and assimilated
to American culture, leading me decades later to attend a high school where I was one of three
Latinos in my graduating class. Luckily, my unwitting parents raised me on Star Trek, Middle
Earth, and the joys of public libraries. I fell in love with the power of escaping through
storytelling and went on to earn a degree in screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University.
Growing up the daughter of a preacher, the characters I write are driven by the complexity of
faith, the consequences of heroism, and the power of self-determination. When I’m not diving
into a new project, I work as a legal assistant, play in a gay soccer league, and prepare for the
zombie apocalypse at my local rock-climbing gym.
